ESCHA is comprehensively committed to sustainability and has made significant progress in recent years in fulfilling its environmental, economic, and social responsibilities. These efforts are reflected in various initiatives aimed at making our own operations more environmentally friendly and ensuring fair and transparent supply chains.
Responsibility
As an internationally active family-owned company, we take responsibility for the environment, the economy, and society. Through sustainable production processes, efficient supply chains, and a valued work environment, we are actively shaping the future.
Environmental Responsibility
We strive for sustainable value creation by considering ecological aspects in our purchasing strategy to promote environmentally friendly and resource-saving processes.
Economic Responsibility
We pursue a cost-efficient and sustainable supply for production at the highest quality level to increase corporate value and secure competitiveness in the long term.
Social Responsibility
We place great importance on social responsibility, regional connection, and a motivating work atmosphere, which is reflected in employee events and employer benefits.
Milestones
New Construction of the Production and Logistics Center
The new construction of the production and logistics center in 2016-2017 led to improved building infrastructure and the optimization of internal logistics routes, which significantly promotes the company's sustainability. This results in a reduction of transport emissions and a more efficient use of resources within the company.
Complete Switch to Green Electricity
The complete switch to green electricity in 2018 represents a major success within the framework of our sustainability strategy. As a result of this measure, we have since met our energy requirements exclusively from renewable sources, avoiding around 1,200 tonnes of CO₂ per year and thereby making a direct contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting the energy transition.
Expansion of the Renewable Energy Division
The expansion of the renewable energy division in 2019, particularly in the transportation sector, marks a strategic success in our commitment to sustainability. This expansion enables us to increasingly focus on environmentally friendly mobility solutions and thus significantly reduce our carbon footprint.
Supply Chain Monitoring
In 2023, we further deepened our commitment to sustainability by implementing supply chain monitoring based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects. A special focus was placed on compliance with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG) to ensure transparency and responsibility throughout our entire value chain. This measure underscores our endeavor to promote fair working conditions and environmentally friendly practices among our suppliers as well.
Environmental Management System
In 2025, we further expanded our commitment to sustainable corporate governance. Through our supplier platform, IntegrityNext, we extended our existing supply chain monitoring to include aspects relating to the CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and the ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards). In 2026, we will, for the first time, systematically collect and analyse relevant sustainability information from our suppliers. This will increase transparency within our supply chain and lay an important foundation for future reporting and due diligence obligations.
At the same time, we have begun establishing an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001. The aim is to systematically record, manage and continuously improve our environmental performance. In doing so, we are laying the groundwork for integrating environmental aspects even more closely into our business processes and consistently pursuing our sustainability goals.
UN Global Compact Network Germany
ESCHA has been a member of the UN Global Compact Network Germany since 30 July 2026. By joining, we are committing to the ten principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labour standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption.
This membership underlines our commitment to firmly embedding responsible business conduct within our corporate strategy. At the same time, it strengthens our continuous improvement process in the area of sustainability and supports us in actively promoting global sustainability goals and integrating them into our business processes.
CDP reporting
In 2026, ESCHA took part in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) for the first time and disclosed its climate-related data and activities as part of its CDP reporting.
By taking part, we are creating additional transparency regarding our climate strategy, our carbon footprint and our measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. CDP reporting complements our existing sustainability activities and helps us to systematically record, assess and continuously develop environmental and climate-related issues.
By disclosing relevant environmental data, we strengthen our dialogue with customers, business partners and other stakeholders, and contribute to transparent and responsible corporate governance.
CO₂ Footprint
In the pursuit of a more sustainable future, we as a company have taken an important step: we have determined our ecological footprint in detail and had a comprehensive report created. This report is not just a snapshot of our current environmental impact but also a decisive milestone on our path toward greater environmental responsibility. It enables us to transparently present our emissions and resource consumption and to develop targeted measures to reduce our footprint.
