Degrees of protection
In our ESCHA test laboratory, we conduct all necessary tests to ensure the safe and reliable use of our products. This includes IP tests that verify the dust and water resistance of our connectors.
For safety reasons, connectors must be protected from external influences such as dust, foreign objects, contact, moisture, and water. This protection is ensured in industrial connectors by:
- the housing,
- the locking mechanism, and
- the sealing at the cable outlet.
The protection classes are indicated by the abbreviation IP (International Protection) followed by two digits representing the protection levels. The first digit indicates the protection level against contact and foreign objects, while the second digit indicates the protection level against the ingress of water.
