ESCHA is comprehensively committed to sustainability and has made significant progress in recent years in fulfilling its environmental, economic, and social responsibilities. These efforts are reflected in various initiatives aimed at making our own operations more environmentally friendly and ensuring fair and transparent supply chains.
Responsibility
As an internationally active family-owned company, we take responsibility for the environment, the economy, and society. Through sustainable production processes, efficient supply chains, and a valued work environment, we are actively shaping the future.
Environmental Responsibility
We strive for sustainable value creation by considering ecological aspects in our purchasing strategy to promote environmentally friendly and resource-saving processes.
Economic Responsibility
We pursue a cost-efficient and sustainable supply for production at the highest quality level to increase corporate value and secure competitiveness in the long term.
Social Responsibility
We place great importance on social responsibility, regional connection, and a motivating work atmosphere, which is reflected in employee events and employer benefits.
Milestones
New Construction of the Production and Logistics Center
The new construction of the production and logistics center in 2016-2017 led to improved building infrastructure and the optimization of internal logistics routes, which significantly promotes the company's sustainability. This results in a reduction of transport emissions and a more efficient use of resources within the company.
Complete Switch to Green Electricity
The complete switch to green electricity in 2018 represents a significant success within our sustainability strategy. Through this measure, we have exclusively covered our energy needs with renewable sources ever since, thus making a direct contribution to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and promoting the energy transition.
Expansion of the Renewable Energy Division
The expansion of the renewable energy division in 2019, particularly in the transportation sector, marks a strategic success in our commitment to sustainability. This expansion enables us to increasingly focus on environmentally friendly mobility solutions and thus significantly reduce our carbon footprint.
Supply Chain Monitoring
In 2023, we further deepened our commitment to sustainability by implementing supply chain monitoring based on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) aspects. A special focus was placed on compliance with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LKSG) to ensure transparency and responsibility throughout our entire value chain. This measure underscores our endeavor to promote fair working conditions and environmentally friendly practices among our suppliers as well.
Environmental Management System
In 2025, we will significantly expand our commitment to sustainable corporate governance. We plan to extend our supply chain monitoring to include CSRD (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive) and ESRS (European Sustainability Reporting Standards) aspects to meet the increased requirements for sustainability reporting and further enhance our transparency.
Concurrently, we are starting to establish an environmental management system in accordance with ISO 14001 to systematically record, manage, and continuously improve our environmental performance. These measures are crucial for consistently pursuing our sustainability goals and comprehensively fulfilling our responsibility towards the environment and society.
CO₂ Footprint
In the pursuit of a more sustainable future, we as a company have taken an important step: we have determined our ecological footprint in detail and had a comprehensive report created. This report is not just a snapshot of our current environmental impact but also a decisive milestone on our path toward greater environmental responsibility. It enables us to transparently present our emissions and resource consumption and to develop targeted measures to reduce our footprint.
